Loco Por Coco Puffs!

 i have 10 min. so let's see how fast these babies can ROLLLLLLLLLL #WORKIT hahaha.
 well this week has been awesome!!!! let me just say that yes, on Sunday i had a talk and then i taught gospel principles! hahaha it's too fun though! and it's like no worries,hahaha.

i think the rats are back. but we found another pension cuz this ones basura hahaha. nah, but the elders are gonna move into ours and were gonna move to another one that's actually in our area! cuz we have to walk like 10 min TIL WE GET in our area hahahah. welp the joys! hahaha

well, Emiliano went to church and that's his 3rd asistencia and he is progressing a ful and
HIS BAPTISM IS ON SATURDAYYYYYY!!!!
ah this kid! have i told y'all about him?
short story shorter. his family is not Christian, so we have been basically teaching him who God is and starting from the beginning and he is progressing enserio!!!! ahhh!!!! he has such a strong testimony and only wants that his family will be happy and to live with God again!!! and he testified the libro de Mormón that no person would write this book. or could. it was soooo awesome!! ahh milagros!
this is the last week of the transfer. fastest yet. ahhh i want to stay with hna rengifo sooo bad! for navidad and then yall can talk to her! ps sorry i can't write people individually but thanks for the emails!
Maddy sorry! love you! are you better now?
also, Lilly I'M SO PROUD OF YOU FOR YOUR SCRIPTURE READING WAY TO BE!!!!!!!!
encourage all yall to read every day and i promise that you will see a difference in our lives!!!! love you alll!!!!!!
oh mom. aurora in Spanish means 'dawn.' fun fact.
_____

first of sorry it was so short last week there was a holiday and no store was open to use their computers!!!!
but anyway here we go!
this week was the greatest ever!!! so we start and monday Emiliano turned really quiet and sad during a lesson and we had thought that, i don't know, we had offended him  or something ... and we were like ahhhhhhh  and super scared cuz of his date is saturday right and so we were like, "what if, what if?" blah blah but then we knelt down and prayed to know if he should be baptized that day and ahh! the most peaceful peace came over me and we both KNEW THAT yes!!! and so we continued and ahH! it was so awesome! from then on we were like yessss and, long story short, he was fine and it was something else, and when we went over the baptism questions for his interview the last one is talking about how he will be making a convenat con Dios for the rest of his life and does he feel like he is ready or prepared. and he paused for like 30 seconds and we were like whaa and then he said. "yes. because i've been praying that God would prepare me for my baptism!!!" ahhh! this kid is toooo awesome1 he has a conversion en serio!
and so Saturday came around and first of all everyone's tardy to everything in Argentina. i know youre thinking ´´mormons are tardy to everything´´ no, mormons are slightly unpunctual. argentinos arrive half an hour to an hour after they should hahaha and so we are running around
  • we arrive at 7. (the baptism is at 7)
  • and we start putting up all the chairs (there aren't pews)
  • (it's hotter than Africa)
  • the elders aren't here.
  • Presidente Santillán isn't there.
  • and so were like whhaaa.
then people start coming at 715 o 720 Emilinao comes! solo! he walked from his house with his cousin to his baptism! ahhh mi corazon! (my heart!) and then his family ended up coming then when we were almost ready president left for an emergency but we popped in the resauration (restoration) video and then at 830 finally it started
and it was BEAUTIFUL!!
ahhHH!HH! and ahh this kid is the coolest! and he really loves the gospel and the church and ahhH!!! its perfect!!! so after we were like, "okay you need to make sure to come early for sacrament to recieve the Holy Ghost" and he was like, "yes!" and we were like,  "and if you don't wake up?" and he was like, "i will!" and i was like, "and do you want us to come by to bring you?" and he was like, "no i think hna... will come" and i was like,  "and if she doesn't?" and he was like, "i'll go solo!" ahhH! mi bebe!
this kid is an example to anyone!! i have such love for him!!! he has such a sweet spirit
(while im thinking of it, yes you can post the fotos)
and so then he  was confirmed and later received the priesthood!!
he will be passing the sacrament!
ahhh1111! alma 26!!!!!!!

EMILIANO MIGUEL FLEITAS!!!
NUESTRA BEBÉ! (our baby, hahaha!)

ELDER ALLAN LE BAUTIZÓ!!
(Elder Allan who baptized him)

oh and then later there was a torment!!! (storm?)
precisely after the baptism, the lights went out and it looked like a hurricane outside! and we live a 30-35 min walk from the chapel and it was pouring and we didn't have money(of course) hahahah and so we were like, we'll just walk in the rain! and then it started to HAIL! IT WAS GIGANTIC!
this foto was taken after it had melted a lot. it was about twice the size! hit me in the back! it was loooocoooO!!! but so fun! we were absolutely soaked!!!!

oh and hna rengifo and i are together for christmas!!! ayyyyoOO!OO!OO!O!O!
so yall will get to see her! she's practicing her English!!!

well family!!! did yall get to watch the christmas devotional? we were misinformed and thought that is was next week. and so we missed it! it was super late, too and so i don't know if we could've but anyway. ahhh today is another holiday here! i'm telling ya there are holidays almost every monday and it's a real pain! haaha cuz EVERYTHING is closed! and so that means that we can't got to a cyber and print and write and so it's the worst, cuz we have to go fetch the golden key from presidente and write in the church, which isn't too bad but we have to share it with the zone leaders and they're fixin to come any second so i must hurry!
ahh all this christmasness is making me full of holiday cheer!!! ps did yall set up the village? if no, set it up... hint hint.... also here it doesn't look or feel a dern thing like Christmas, which i think is a good thing because of the way i am with Christmas.
i loooooovve it!!!!!
but it's just hotter than Africa and there are tormentas (storms) about once a week. i love them though it's hilarious. the people like have a sense for them. we were at the house of a family and the son walks out and stops. doesn't say anything, and looks up and goes--its gonna rain. and nothing else hahah i was like, what. i'm tellin you these people can read the clouds or something! the really fluffy 3-d looking white clouds mean tormenta en 3....2....1... hahaha so that's fun!
we'll take better Christmas pics después, but we were just overcome with holiday cheer!

it's hotter than Africa, the irony of snowmen right now....
let's see. we decorated our apartment. still waiting to see if we can move. things are complicated. [insert avril lavigne here] this week was really good! super fast! everyday there's more stuff awesome, so it's hard to distinguish the days sometimes. were gonna receive more info, but for the call we can do it on the 24th or 25th. we're thinking 25 mejor no? maddy set up the skype so that's all good. ask her for the info. also it's 40 minutes. and that's all the info i have about that. oh hahaha so we have this investigadora and her name is Berta and she is 74 and hilarious! and so we visited her cuz she was a referral and this was like a month ago. and she talks and talks and talks and so it was hard to teach her but longs story short we visited her agian and she had cigarettes on the table and a big thing of tea and so we were like well, word of wisdom! hahah and so we start with that and actually had a really good lesson. she wants to feel more healthy and so she said that she will quit smoking and drop the tea and so we went about 4 days later to visit her and asked how she was doing and she quit smoking! not one!!!! ahah how awesome! but (reference real quick: maté codido is like an herbal tea that EVERYONE LOVES HERE) and so we went and she was like, "well you see i had to ask for permission from God to drink tea cuz i didnt have mate cocido!" hahahahaha and we were like, whaaa she prayed for permission! but she's really great  hahaha welp. find and drink some holiday sprite for me! sorry that this letter is short! blame the holidays or the liders de zona! thanks for your letters! and dad i'm excited to hear about your christmas class! and nick and mom you're beasts and i'm proud of you for your reidneer romp! and lil, you best be  playin your violin for me!!! hahaha love you all! and maddy love youuouuuuuuu! i havent read your card seeing as you just sent it but love you oh and sarah! i can't open the fun cards!!!!! sorry! but love yall!
love hermana dascanio ho ho ho haha

How Do You Have a Face Like That?!?

how are yalll!!!!!! so guess what!! i've decided that i can still write and read english but i can' t speak it! hahahaha i tried to pray in english for my companion during our study and it didn't work out hahahah

so yeah this week has been bomb.
well bomb and sad. hermano juan is having really bad rections to not smoking. he is really depressed and right now almost impossible to find. so that's really hard but we're praying a lot for him. i know it must be very difficult to stop an addiction-- all we can do is pray and trust in God!

this week however has been super awesome! we've found a lot more people and they are progressing. there's this one investigadora and her name is jackeline and she is awesome! she has been reading the Book of Mormon and asking God if it's true but feels like she hadn't receive an answer. we asked her what she felt (after describing the fruits of the Spirit are happiness, peace....) and she said "happiness and peace," and so we were like, "THATS YOUR ANSWER," but she has a history of dreams and how God in her life has helped her and responded to her through dreams, so she thinks that that will be the way. so we knelt down in prayer with her and asked her to pray right now and she did and ah the Spirit was so strong and she felt super good but still was not sure that that was her answer, and so the next day we had zone training and we practiced with other missionaries and I LOVE THE PRACTICES i used to hate them but you can receive so much revelation for your investigadores! so me and hna rengifo were jackeline and her husband and some elders were the missionaries obvio haha and ahhh we told them our situaction and they were like... snap, i don't know, but we did the practice and  GUESS WHAT SCRIPTURE THEY USED? (revelation) during the practice!!! doc y cov 6 22-23! read it its glorious! and so were gonna use that!!! and she's gonna be baptized! she wants to but when we talked with her she wants to be SURE.

also, there's perla and her brother cristian and they are still progressing well. they have fechas for the 22 and the 29 de noviembre!!! everyday so much happens and every second there are opportunidades to be bold and follow the Spirit or to not. how are yall doing with your family reading?

oh we have rats in our pension their names are ramon and i forgot the other 2. they're the worst. they like cheetos. so we plant cheetos and poison but they're super smart and only eat the cheetos... we bought a new poison and so hopefully that yields some serious results. hahaha

and yes, ahh hermana fraga is the greatest!! haha her and hermana harper were in tucuman! and yes... the bugs love american blood...

haha also i sent a foto were i have a gigantic spider bite hahaha Concepcion is awesome, downtown it really is nice and city-like but we have half of the CITY so there is also pretty country likeness.

oh and tell camille thank you so much for the letter i just got it! tell her that argentina is awesome and that her schools sound like super awesome!!! ill try to write a card she told me to write her back but as yall know i havent written one card... sorry

oh and can yall send me the recipes for pancakes and the easiest banana bread you can find! thanks! love you all
hahaha oh yeah we went to visit this one family and they were like,  "where are you from?" (a few say that i have a peruvian accent) --2 of my comps were from there and so maybe hahaha--but when I say "USA" they're always surprised and this one man was like, "WHAT. you don't have any latina blood.? how do you have a face like that?"
hahahaha and i was like,  "well my mom is greek" and he was like, "OH THAT'S WHY!" hahahha
also theres a lot of respect for italians down here {fist bump dad hahaha}
 love you all know that i'm well hahahah
chaowcitos!!!

__________________________________________________________________

creo que por fin tengo tiempo!
hahahah i literally wrote that sentence and then was like... english right. vamos hahaha

well snap crackle pop its snowing in texas? like whaaat!!! i'll just say that thats nutsos. guess what it's not doing here?? snowing. it's the opposite of that hahah well for like 2 weeks its actually been nice so it's all good.

good news!!! i think that the whole rat family died. we bought poison and put it EVERYWHERE and we haven't seen them in a week!! they like to hang out and eat cheetos behind our suitcases and under the fridge (that doesn't work ps, that's fun) but yeah #THEYGONE

haha crazy that dad's the gospel doctrine teacher and so is maddy cuz guess who i am?? the gospel doctrine teacher!!! hahaha me and hermana rengifo switch off every week. it's fun. here it's actually gospel principles. so it's more basic. and it's fun and the awesome thing is that the people love to help. normally, we have more investigators and recent converts than members in the class (cuz all the members have callings and welp were stretched pretty thin but hey, la iglesia continuará!) and they're all so excited it's awesome.

this week we had Stake conference (district conference actually) and it was super good! president chaparro and hermana chaparro came and spoke both saturday and sunday. i LOVE THEM. they are tooo awesome! and yall will probably see fotos on facebook of that. hermana chaparro LOVES to snap them pics haha she is precious!!!! also on saturday., we had interviews with President! every other transfer we have interviews with him so this was only my second! i love the interviews! the Spirit is like, BAM! ahh its too good!

oh and hey hermana rengifo cut my hair! it grows sooo fast i was like, " i have a mop for a head." i felt like fred and george weasley in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire hahaha, and so she cut my hair. i was a little nervous, but she was like, "no don't worry, its simple." and so in a moment of desperation i agreed, and was like, "kay do it!" it was like hallie and annie in Parent Trap, and she cut off like 6 inches of hair hahaha, but still, it's really long. and hey, it turned out! i got muchos compliements on my hair hahaha, and then after she cut it she told me that that was the first time she had ever cut hair -____- hahahahah chistoso
i don't know why i had thought that she had previously cut hair before but hey, it all worked out hahaha

i have a package waiting for me in the offices... i assume based on your questioning that it's not from yall. i have to pay 40 pesos to receive it... also i don't know when i can cuz now im in tucumán. the thing with the packages is that no, we shouldn't recieve them . because it's expensive for the mission. algo así. yes people continue to send them but in a conference we had the leaders bajaron la caña (laid down the law--literally means brought down the cane hahah) and they said what hna chaparro said. only paper and fotos. and so that is the answer. they do have the missionaries pay fees and they aren't much, the fees. like that is like 5 bucks, but the point is that we shouldn't, so thats my answer. but send as much oragami and letters and please not an elf on the shelf and oooh fotos! all i want for Christmas is FOTOS hahaha if you could, of friends too and of extended family, and not of right before i left cuz nobody told me that i got fat. hahaha well, tis life. i lost a lot of weight so now i think i'm back to my normal hahaha.

the work is marvelous. i don't have words. every time i open my mouth i'm like,  "whaaaaat." The Spirit is real. the promises that we will know what to say are real. i love you all
 and pray for hermano juan, cristian, emiliano por favor

Oops, I'm In Tucuman!

welp #oopsimintucuman
we had cambios and i'm now in my second area Tucuman, Concepcion! don't ask me where it is, cuz i have no idea! just that it's about a four-hour bus ride then a two-hour bus ride from the mission offices. hahaha

new area and that means a new compañera! her name is hermana rengifo and she is from peru tambien! and she is awesome! she looooves harry potter so were already tight! hahahah

well i really wish that i had time to write but i've got about 7 minutes! so let's see what these little fingers can do!!! ah so much happened!
first of NARA! so we hadn't seen her in a whole transfer! she doesn't have a phone and we can't go by her house because it's her uncle's and it's idk but literally we rely on miracles for her. and so we were walking and i saw her! and i was like NARA! and ahh too cool and something was like ASK FOR HER NUMBER and so i did and she was like oh yea! i have a phone! so we set up an appt and that day came around and we called her to remind her and she seemed frazzled and was like, i'm having problems and can't talk,, bye! and so i was like, hmm weird. and then it was like 6:30 (time for the appt) and i just felt that i needed to call her. (okay it was before then) and i did and she was like, i'm here  [cuz we meet in the park] and we went and she was crying and crying and we were like, what happened?! and she was like having bad, bad problems with her boyfriend and other stuff-her life is rough. like really bad. and she was like, you guys called at the perfect time cuz i didn't know if i wanted to come or not and yada yada and we had the most powerful lesson ever!
and she accepted a bautimso date!!!!!!! ahhh!!!!!
i wish i could elaborate more but i don't have time.

another awesome thing is that we were in this one barrio and its pretty humble there--like realy poor. and pretty rough. and we were walking and hermana olazo felt very strong the spirit- like stopped in her tracks and then i felt it too.
i've never felt the Spirit so strong i dont think.
and so we were like trying to listen to see if we should go anywhere specific but didn't feel anything specifically, and so we went back to the member's house we were at and talked to her and then went on our way.
a little while later i was thinking like what was that? and we were talking and can only think that there must've been bad news ahead of us, cuz we were just about to turn the corner when we got confused and turned around. i know that we were protected just then and the THE SPIRIT IS REAL!

another thing awesome is that we were visiting mercedes. she´s super old and super awesome. she'd always been soo timid and shy and doesn't understand much so there was part of me that was like why are we teaching if she doesn't understand what were teaching? but we both felt to keep teaching her and so we did. we explained and explained using the simplest of words and finally -we thought we got through to her. we invited her to say the prayer and then and there ask if Joseph Smith was a profet and she did.
the Spirit filled the room and after the prayer she was a changed person. she said she felt joy and happiness in her chest and that then she was actually talking with us. i don't know how to explain this-as it is with most spiritual experiences- but she changed.
it was like in the Book of Mormon when it says that the hearts change with conversion.
we witnessed before our eyes this.

well i'm sorry to word dump and go. it was such an awesome week and part of me is super sad to leave tribuno and see these miracles through, but hey thats the mission and hey that´s life.
adonde quieras iré, Señor.
love you familia! tenga una buena semana!!!!!
paz y bendiciones

_________

first off wassuhh mama and dat chilli!!!!! too good! ahh i want soome! except not cuz its hotter than africa here! and guess what! i've got like a billion and six bites on my legs! hahaha bienvendios a tucuman.

sorry that i don't have too much time. ahhh this week was toooo goood! ahhh!

Hermana Rengifo is the coolest! hahaha she is ALWAYS HAPPY AND SMILING! and ahh we work really well together!!!! so basically this area is ´´la tierra de leche y miel´´ if you work for it. thats what Hermana Rengifo told me and so we have been working so hard and we have been seeing the fruits of our labors! the people are letting us into their homes and we're teaching so much!!!! its not about the numbers para nada, but our leader de distrito was like whhaaat, i don't know what you're doing, but keep doing it!!

ahh, we've had so many awesome things happen! like this one reference we had we went and he has an illness and can't talk too well but understands just fine. and we were teaching him and nothing was right and so we switched to teach baptism (we hadn't planned for that) and when we told him that he could be baptized he cried and the Spirit was so strong he wants to be baptized so bad it was sooo awesome! and so we invited him and he said yes yes yes!!!! ahhh! there have been so many things just soo awesome. ahh! im soo happy!!!!!!!!!! yall this week was awesome and sorry but i've gotta go and i just wanna say that my legs itch!!! oh also i had this wicked blister that we popped three times but kept coming back and so Hermana Rengifo did a little surgery hahaha love yall
hna dascanio

__________

well, i think i owe yall a better explanation as to where i am--
"better" meaning "an explanation" haha
well, i'm in Tucumán [that is the state] and Concepción is the city. we share the entire city of Concepcion with the liders of the zone. haha. we live in their area which is a little aggravating considering that we have to walk out of their area and into ours, but hey we´re professional walkers right now. olympics 2016 here i come!

real quick, i had some back problems last month and they thought that i had scoliosis but it turns out that i just needed a week of physical therapy. the x-rays didn't show anything bad, just that the end of my column is too big for the socket thing--he said that it could be that i was born that way or could have been caused by an accident...[cough cough 2010] haha but dont worry im all good!

fun stuff now! ahhhhh i love Concepcion! it's gigantic! we have like 23 barrios (neighborhoods) and so we walk a looooooooot hahaha but its awesome!

also update on my legs: they're all good!!!! i got an infection but that's gone.

update on the weather! the first half of the week it was hotter than africa! 44 DEGREES CELSIUS! and then it rained a bunch #thanksamilliongrandmaforthoserainboots!!! they came in handy! hahaha some of the streets were super flooded like six inches of my rainboots hahaha so yeah thanks!

ohhhh my gooodness milagrossss! [miracles!]
so, our presidente de la rama (branch) is presidente Santillán and so his wife´s dad isn't a member. he´s evangélica and has always dodged baptism and mormonism despite the fact that he reads the Book of Mormon and other manuals. he smokes and has for years and so that only adds to his not wanting to think about being a member. BUT. we were out and about and my compañera said that we should go to the house of presidente. i was a little hesitant at first cuz they looove to talk and i didnt want to waste time but i felt that we should go too. so we went and Hermano Juan (him) was waiting for us!!! we were just talking and he had some questions about the LDS manual he was reading! and so we answered his questions and the discussion led to him saying that he can't understand mercy. like the mercy God has for us and that he can't stop smoking and stuff like that. and my companion whipped out this scripture that talks about how when we keep the commandments, we earn God´s mercy. (justice and mercy is awsome to study ps) haha and so he paused. and the Spirit got super strong and he said, ´´i'll tell you what, missionaries. i will be baptized. but you have to give me the time to make the change. don't drag me to the font saturday. i want to see this change in me. i want my family to see this change in me.´´ and then he bore his testimony and we were like crying!!!
he said, (i like have it all memorized!)
"I KNOW the church is true. I KNOW the Book of Mormon is true. and i don't want to waste anymore time. i just want to be saved. and i know that God will help me stop smoking.´´
HOW AWESOME!!!! and so we posted the day of 29 de nov!!!!!
he said earlier if he feels ready!
HOW AWESOME!!!
ahh, there have been so many miracles! i want yall to know that God really does understand us! and really does answer our questions!!!! we have been extra bold this week. asking people to pray here and now and they recieve answers! it's undeniable because it's true.
 i love you all and keep strong!

Make Like Luke's Sister, and LEA!

This was on the Salta Argentina Facebook Page :)
love you all and sorry its supppper short this week. i dont have timeeee!!! also this computer is brokesville!!
so first i want to share the name of one of the barrios here (neighborhood) Aybal.
pronounced like eyeball hahahhaa i died!!!!

lets see this week was a little odd. insanely fast i cant even get a grip of what day it is!!! were teaching daniel still. hes a little hard to get a hold of but he is awesome! when we teach you can see the Spirit working in his eyes i love it!!!!! its super cool how ah its the truth! as we teach its like the Spirit is testifying to us and him and i love it! did i already share the edified scripture? dyc 50-22
make like luke´s sister and "LEA!" hahahaha that was a good one!
hahahaha that means "read" and is pronounced like princess lea hahahha
anyway after one of the lessons, i felt the Spirit sooo strong. like my chest could burst.
i felt like liesel in the sound of music weeeeeeeee except i didn't just kiss a nazi.

also can someone tell me where dexter´s going haha?
the conferencia para las mujeres was rockin!!! we watched in spanish obviously and it was awesome maddy are you going to conference? i will look for you! they always pan the people! haha but yeah it was sooo goood! and President Uchtdorf bajó la caña, no? haha (he was like bam bam bam) haha too good!

well yall i love it here. we are working a lot with the ward and will continue  to work harder with them.  we're gonna look for more opportuniteis to serve them and strengthen el barrio. but i love this area! and im so glad that i've had this area as a starting point. although i dont like to say it. but it is a very hard area. the people aren't too receptive. but i've learned that that doesn't matter because God has people ready en todo lugar. we just have to find them, and it makes the little things that much sweeter.

it's interesting there's a lot of menos activos here and people who ´´use´´ the church. i think that that is a big problem everywhere. the gospel en realidad, heals people and so that is why it can be even more appealing to broken people, but the thing is is that once you're healed or helped, you can't put it aside ungratefully. God doesn't require much, but he requires a broken heart and a contrite spirit--humility. we need Him even when we prosper and have our health. we need Him. read helamán 11. it's really good. it talks about a people soo wicked that they're just killing each other and so nefi begs the Lord for a different pestilence so that these people will have humility and remember the Lord. but see what happens. analyze this chapter. personally, i love to analyze it.
welp, that's all she wrote. (that's the quote, i'm not talking about myself in third person) haha just want that to be clear.

hows y'alls scripture study going? there is such strength that can be found in the scriptures. i've learned(am learning) to looove the Book of Mormon. right now i absolutely love to read it. in Preach My Gospel it talks about how you can frequently partake of the invitacion at the front of the Book of Mormon and ask God if it´s true. i think that that is a beautiful thing. remember your testimony. strengthen it. these truths are solid, unbreakable, unbendable, unquestionable. nobody can ever tell you that you didn't feel something. also maybe for FHE look up that talk by Elder Holland to pump y'all up for the Book of Mormon and also General Conference!

oh and Dallin H oaks wrote an awesome quote about note taking. he said that (more elegantly put) don't write word for word what they say. yes there are quotes here and there that are beautifully put, but it is more important what you learn, what you feel. the revelation you receive. and how you choose to respond to the things you hear. (guidance, goals) i love that cuz lots of times im too preocuppied with trying to remember words that i miss out on parts of the talks or in the end when i review my notes i don't remember why i wrote a certain thing. love you all with the white hot intensity of the big hoss tv...if it had a white screen. hahahlove yall

{this is from last week, mom is FINALLY up to date! Sorry, y'all!!}

over the past little while, i have learned a lot about humility. i think im a pro now. (insert 'datum tss' here) hahahah but in reality it´s true. after the coming of Christ, the Law of Moses was fulfilled and all God desires from then on is a broken heart and a contrite spirit. when you truly think about what that means, it´s powerful. here on earth, we are here to essentially to 5 things.
1.have faith in Jesus Christ
2. show that faith through repentance
3. baptism
4. receive the gift of the Holy Ghost
5. endure to the end
to progress, we must humble ourselves and accept this plan of His. most of us are in the endure to the end phase. narrow is the way, but sure is the way to eternal life. our guide is as reliable as a guide can be. and here, i"m learning that always we need to humble ourselves and for lack of a better phrase, ´´give the props´´ to God. As missionaries and as members, we are NOT the teachers. it does not matter how skilled   you are with people, talking, sharing feelings, teaching--the Spirit teaches the message through worthy instruments. and recently, i've been realizing more and more that as i get ´´better´´ here in the mision, it is still the Holy Ghost that does everything. everything in this life is about humility. we need to be humble to ask for help yes, but we must be humble to receive the help. i'm not entirely sure where im going with this, but these are just some thoughts and things ive learned recently (am learning).

hna olazo and i are receiving buckets of references! and it's awesome!!!! and from that, we are finding new investigators. surely the work progresses according to our faith and dilligence. fabricio  recently has been difficult to find. but we found him this weekend and he still has his baptism date for 25 de octubre. he just needs to focus and put forth his efforts. but all is well!! oh yeah the bishop told us 1 min before church that the both of us had 10 min talks to give. hahaha too fun. but it went well!
all i can say is THE GIFT OF TONGUES/THE SPIRIT :) haha

also, i want to give a part of my testimony that God knows us and understands us perfectly. He understands how we think, the way we feel, and He personally has felt that way before. He has overcome all for us that we might humble ourselves and accept Him as necessity. Let us never mistake His plan of infinite mercy, for reasons to not act now. we must humble ourselves because we need Him now.

also, were gonna have a conferece for just the hermanas.
can you say ROAD TRIP!?! (legally blonde hahhahah)

also mom can you send a recipe for chocolate chip cookies. the normal awesome one of dads! por favor! everyone here worships chocolate chip cookies hahhaha one family came up to me and was like do you know the american cookie with little chocolates?? do you know how to make them? hahaha we'll see! sorry ya got stuck with this gringa! hahahaha
love you all un monton!
more than heffalumps love woozles

Oh It Was Beautiful! Hermoso! Lindo!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YO PODRÍA MORIR DE FELICIDAD!!!
CLARITA WAS BAPTIZED!!!!!!
INSERT THE CLIP FROM PARENT TRAP WHEN MARTIN IS CRYING HERE!!! IVE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY IN MY ENTIRE LIFE BAH HA HA HAAA!!!

[photo not included as we don't have permission to put up a picture of little Clarita. Just imagine a beautiful, smiling little girl with an every smilier Hermana Dascanio and Olazo]
so when you see the foto im sure the first thing youre thinking is ´´hermana dascanio, how is your hair so luxuriously smooth? you didnt bring your straightener??´´ well first, thank you for the compliment, and second, i have a fshion secret for you!!! i IRONED MY HAIR! hahaha my hair is indecisive and didnt know if it was straight or curly, so i put my head on the ironing board and ironed it! dont worry, it was on silk, (cuz my hair is silky soft hahah) turns out that that didnt work and after i love tapped my head with the iron, hna olazo helped me in a more civilized manner and ironed my hair! hahaha and it works! kids dont try this at home!!! hahaha

oh it was beautiful. hermoso! lindo! and Clarita looked like a little angel!!! something really cool happened (lots of things but here's one) so i was to give the talk before the baptism and i had it all written out becuase of the language barrier and yada yada and so i started and it was really dificult to talk. i kept losing my place as i was reading and i dont know it didnt feel right. but i had a moment where in my head i pictured Kronk shoulder angels and i was like, Am i going to submit to this fear or am i going to buckle down and trust in the promise of doctrine and covenants 100:4-8?
[it talks about how you will know in the precise moment what to say and that the Spirit will testify of your words]
READ IT BEFORE CONTINUING
 and so i looked up into the crowd and opened my mouth and went off. and was talking and talkng and it was about things that i wasn't planning on saying. and most importantly el papa de clarita was paying a ton of attencion and was nodding his head and had tears in his eyes! i was talking about baptism por claro, pero after about how the gospel blesses the families and changes the hearts of people. it was beautiful the moment!!! afterwards, the ordinance was hermosa!!! and he wsa crying a ful!!! oh you all i cant describe it! and capslocks really stress me out so im not doing them too much but yeah it was the greatest thank you so much for your prayers!!!!!! and fe!!! y esperanza!!!

okay can i just say that
1. briggs is a little man! and
2. that that is the greatest that he baptized his friend!!!! ah!!!!!i  am sooo proud briggs!!! you are such a good man and so strong. i've always admired that you've never been hesitant to talk about the gospel with others. way to go!!!!!!! ahhH!!!! so proud!!!!!!

real quick shout out to nana! como esta!!!!! nana banana!!!!
now I'm hungry--not that i want to eat you nana, just like banana bread or something...
that escalated quickly... haha i love you!!!

so the work. the work is awesome and me and hna olazo work really well together. she is teaching me so much about how to me more bold and teach with better unity. she trusts me a lot to talk and ah its awesome! we work well together!!!!

so mom i have to tell you somehting. i can make my hands sweaty and dry on command. and its really weird and ask maddy or scooter or momi to testify! and so i was doing it cuz its fun and we were walking like pioneers and then i pictured a conversation between you and me. i know you are thinking ´´why ever would you want to make your hands sweaty?´´ ´´so i can dry them´´ hahaha dwight!!!!

lets see. life is awesome!!!! i dont know what to say!!

fabricio right now is a little bit difficult to find. i think that his grandma is having some influence because there was a problem when we said that we don't worship the saints and the virgin. we tried to explain how they are great people and we admire Mary a lot for her obedience to God but it says in the commmandments that we dont worship any other gods but after that, he's been hard to find. speed bump nothing more. were praying for him.

OH HEY! so after the baptism, like the day could get better we were walking and it was 9:15 and so we were like hmmm where to go cuz we need to be in the pensión by 930 unless we're in a lesson then its 10 and so i felt strongly to visit this one investigadora that we haven't visited in a while and so we went and her son answered the door and we almost were like, oh okay we´ll return in other moment but we asked if we could share the message with him and he said yes! and said that he wants to become closer to Christ and we had one of the most spiritual lessons ever!!! and he acccepted a fecha to be baptized 18 de octubre!!!!!! THIS IS THE BEST WORK IN THE WORLD GOZO TENGO GOZO EN MI ALMA SIEMPRE!!!
ah too good.
well im gonna try to respond to some peeps (not the marshmallos)
peace punch captain crunch

so this week was bomb diggity! we worked a bunch! and ahh milagros! so were working with vilma and she's progressing well but hasn't been to church the last 2 or 3 weeks! she knows everything but thinks she's not ready for baptism and so that's why she doesnt want to ask God if it´s true cuz she KNOWS THE ANSWER SHE´LL RECEIVE! haha well we´ll work with her pray for her! herman a musmano and I have been trabajando a ful con los menos activos!!!!! as you know, we have a trillion and six and so we´re walking all over salta finding and trying to help everyone!!!!!
INVITAR A LAS PERSONAS A VENIR A CRISTO!!!
nuestra lema!!! haha
but anyway, some of the menos activos that we have been working with, we´ve had SUCH PROGRESS!!! we are finding doubts and settling them like no other! its awesome! course when i say we i mean that we´ve had a toooon of help [cough cough(points up)]
WE HAVE A FECHA FOR CLARITA!!
no, it´s not a baptism for the mission cuz she´s 8 and her mom is  a member, but who cares! i don't care about numbers cuz she´s getting baptized!!!! 13 de septiembre!!!! AAHHHHHHHH! so awesome! i don't think i used enough capitals in this story but i dont have time to fix it so just picture hammy from Over the Hedge and read it in his voice, couple it with alma 26, and thats how i feel!!!!!
but yeah. our barrio [ward] is flourishing! this work is sooo great. asistencia [attendance]was at about 70 and now its at about 100!!!!!!!!!! i know its not me or hermana musmano but we are seeing the fruits of our labors!!!! tal vez right now not through baptisms and mucho progress with our investigators but we are doing everything we can and by His grace, it´s sufficient.
DILIGENCIA, PACIENCIA, Y AMOR POR LA OBRA
thats me and hna musmano´s lema! love you all!
** bought me some more apple candy juice **
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. i dont have time to write anyone i only have a little bit to write this letter and to presidente chaparro.
ALSO THE BAPTISM OF CLARITA IS SATURDAY!!! and she´s suuuper excited i wish i could elaborate more cuz this is awesome stuff but i don't have time!!!!!!
so just read this with the voice of Ty Pennington- the guy from Extreme Home Makeover- MOVE THAT BUS!!!
I DON'T THINK YOU ARE!!!!
We we're fasting right and i was just like fasting and praying with all my everything just like, please, we are literally working as hard as we can. if it´s Thy will, can we have a baptism? cuz i know there are people waiting.
and so, we went to church and it was great, and this kid 13 yrs old was there, fabricio.
and he found us
and told us that he wants to be baptized!!!!!
there have been a whole slew of kids that come to our Family Home Eveings as a ward on friday nights and they're always a little rowdy and sweaty and playing futbol, but they do always listen and this friday i just had this feeling put ´´IGLESIA 930-1230 DOMINGOS AQUI!´´ on the board after our lesson and he came!!! and wqe were so shocked and like whaaaa!"!!! are how do you feel like talk to us! and he was like i prayed to ask God and i received an answer and i feel good in this church and i told my mom and she said ´´so you want to be a mormon´´ and i said yes! HOW AWESOME! IVE GOTTA GHO BUT WERE GONNA BAPTIZE HIM AND HIS FAMILY WE HAVE A CITA CON EL IN AN HOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a
well. this week was bomb! we received word from the presidency of the church that now we need to teach leccion 5 before baptism! thats like missionary work, temples, marriage eternal, sacerdocio and thinhgs like that. so we had to postpone the baptsim of clarita until this saturday but its all good cuz the important thing is that she´s ready!!!! she is sooo excited and oh my goodness prescious! we gave her invitations so that she can invite friends and family and its the cutest and best thing in the world!!!! fabricio has such strong desires to be baptsimed and we talked a lot with his mom and she has full support, says that he needs spiritual guidance and that if he wants this then it´s all good. that was good to hear, but we want her to listen too!! so were still working with them a bunch! fabricio has a lot of problems in his home life and so were praying a lot for him, knowing that there will be obstacles to deter him achieving this desire and great choice of his. oh and hey! we received a referencia from his mom for his cousin, facundo who is 13 and smokes and really needs help. and so we went there not knowing what to expect. we got there and he answered the door and yada yada he let us in and his 18 yr old sister was there too and we had the GREATEST LESSON EVER!! ah it was de 100!!!! the Spirit was sooo strong! and you could see in their eyes the Spirit testifying and edifying! ah too cool! theres a scripture in dyc i dont remember where right now but it talks about teaching the gospel and how if you teach with the Spirit, both are edified and wow too cool! he accepted the invitation to be baptized and when we told fabricio, he almost cried! he was worriying a lot about his cousin! and the sister asked us WHEN CAN I COME TO YOUR CHURCH? how sick is that!!!! she does have a strong catholic background that later pulled her back cuz she has commitments with the Catholic church, but vamos a ver! ah it was too cool!
hna olazo is soooooo awesome!!! shes from peru and shes 28! que vieja! hahaja jk and shes the sweetest person ever! she was baptised when she was 20 and only her and her dad and one out of 5 hermanos is baptized! and yeah she has already taught me sooo much. to answer your question, dad yes! hermana musmano was great. she taught me sooo many things. she was a great mama!
the weather right now is psychotic. it changes drastically..... no comment on that word... hahaha in the morning and in the day and night, which keeps my awesome small talk of weather highly relevant hahaha i feel like as of recently, my spanish is a ton better. im communicating pretty much just fine. im still horrendous at telling stories, but between my phd in sound effects and my mba in charades, it´s all good hahahaha but yeah right now its genuinely hard to write in english and im thinking in spanish!!!!!!!! aka i dont have many thoughts ahhaha jk its awesome! anywho..... that is the coolest thing ever about the friend of briggs and dexter!!!! ah ! reading that i was like ahhhHHHHHH!HH!H!H! teary and all" shout out briggs! youre the greatest!!!
o real quick the worst thing happened sunday! i had to lead the hymns but i was told 30 seconds before the hymn started and i wsa like oh=kay i got this. then when i was up there i was like, wait, i dont know what hymn this is, so i didnt know how to start it and [spoiler alert] most of the hymns in spanish vary a little in tune at parts and this one did a ton and not to mention I DONT KNOW HOW TO LEAD 3/4!! ay twas horrendous! cuz the congregation didnt know the hymn either and so they were looking at me and i was looking at them like WHY ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME?? swaying my arm in oblong circles aye it ws horrible. funny afterwards. a little. lets just say that its a good thing that your salvation doesnt depend on your ablility to lead a hymn. or id be goin down. hahaha
love you all!
ps someone stole my bag! luckily it was empty! unluckily i just bought it cuz my bag broke! haha
ciaucito!
oh wait mom that was the greatest that quote you sent me i forgot to tell you! ah! ps, all yall read 1 pedro 3 12-18 its the bomb especially v 15. never fear never falter anything that you lose in behalf of Christ, will be repaid. also ah the Atonemente! i could go on but ive got to go! read and analize as a family!!!!! the mercy! the grace! it really is beautiful! ive decided that the gospel is just beautiful --it may or may not be my time of the month therefore i may be a little more sensitive now cuz all week long ive almost cried at scriptures" its beautifuL!!!!
love yall
paz yy bendicionesssssss
Put on Your Armor, It's Crazy Out There
MILAGROSSSSSS!!!! [MIRACLES!!!!]
this week was the greatest ever!!!! ahhH!!!! we had a conferencia de zona or entrenamiento thingy on tuesday and it was about how to find and teach people. it was suuuuueper powerful and pumped me and hna musmano up a full!!!! one thing that was said was (cuz every night we write in our carpeta de area about the investigators and menos activos that we visited and thier status). and so what was said was, ´´imagine thatChrst has a carpeta de missioneros and everyday he fills it out with how each missionary is doing progressing, diligenica, obendiencia," yada yada. and i was like, snap crackle pop. i gotta pick it up!
dont think that we werent trying or anything or being dilligent but oh siempre we can improve!!!!
and so me and hna musmano kicked fannypacks this week!
i dont know what changed. honestly i prayed harder and i think we had more faith. hna musmano had been a little down about this area because of the past but ya know what, WE'RE NOT IN THE PAST! and yeah it was awesommmmme!
this is awesome let me see if i cant somewhat convey the degree of awesomity. so there was this girl, Nara. i think i wrote about her like 3 weeks ago. her dad reminded me of papou-menos activo and she is not a member but is suuuuper interested! well. since then,
 WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND HER!
Like at all--we probably have tried like 20 times. and so she had been on my mind cuz we were like starting to think about stopping to try to find her right. but for days i was like, no. we can find her. and so i went about to test my faith. knowing that, "ask and we shall receive". i also read something awesome in pme and i was like, i need to pray harder. and so sunday, monday, and tuesday i had been including her in my prayers and thinking about her a lot. yall know me and how horrid i am with recognizing people so i was like, please help us be able to find her--somehow i dont know how--and please help me to recognize her. and so wednesday rolled around and we just left our pensión. mind you a few random things happened to delay us like we were walking down the stairs and then forgot contact cards and so we went back up. then i had to recharge my card for the collectivos and so finally we left our little area. and theres this polleria right next to our block. i was walking and this girl turned around and it was like i didnt even think, i just yelled "NARA!!!" and she was like,  "hermanas!!!"
and so we proceeded to talk and everything and turns out she is very difficutl to find in her house and its the house of her tio [uncle]and so she was like, "lets meet at the church for our lecciones and yada yada yada." HOW AWESOME!
i DONT know if i was able to convey this well. but seriously it was so incredible. i may or may not have cried right after we saw her. i was just so ahhhhh!!!!! so awesome!
and she is capa!!! (boss) (insert michael scott shoulder pad quote--´´those shoulder pads are really boss man.´´) hahahahah
OH MOM I HAVE A SCRIPTURE FOR YOU! drop everything and read it now.
hint: its Office related and i came across it while studying hahahahah alma 61:8
hahahahahahaha if you dont get it you need to watch season 1 again. haha
okay so im convinced that everything is better on the mission. the sun is brighter, everything is delicious, i dont know!
so, a few weeks ago we were eating lunch at a member's house and the drink was....apple juice.
now, yall know me and apple juice.
it's of the devil and i cannot bear the taste of it.
i don't know, every time i'm like, it cant be that bad. seriously.
i try and i die. and so i was like ah pucha! [darn] no quiero! hahaha but like the good missionera soy, i was like, alright ive gotta drink this. and guess what?
IT WAS THE GREATEST THING IVE EVER TASTED!
i almost pinched myself to see if i was dreaming. i kept trying it and was like,
what did i possibly dislike about this beverage! ?!
it's for sure everything is better on the mission!"!!
throughout the last several weeks i've had lots of apple juice at people's houses and i even bought my own. and i was like ah! this is liquid heaven, i think. then one day i was like, this tastes familiar... but i couldn't place it. and then i was like... it tastes like... jolly rancher????? but its apple juice!!
then my eyes narrowed like squidward and i was like, ahhhh pucha (darn)..... is this not 100% juice? (of course it's in spanish, so it took me a little longer to find it)
but it's 3% JUICE!!! :(((((((((( hahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha
i don't know if you can call it juice
but besides that, yes everything is better on the mission :)
so friday we were "oot and aboot"
and we are going through our ward registry to track down and bring back all these menos activos. so we come across this one family and we go stop by. and this man answers the door and is like, what do you want! and so we explained who we are and were like, does this family live here? and he was like, how do you know our name! you arent a church! youré servicio intelligencia! were are you from? los estados unidos? are you spies!
hahahaha can you believe that!
another investigador yelled at me and was like, WHAT ARE YOU DOING! and i was like... whaaat (i was sifting through my bag for a pamphlet to give him) and he thought that i was messing with a camera. lots of people think we have cameras in our name tags... it's kinda funny and kinda confusing.
anyway ive gotta make like tigger, so ttfn !
but yeah. oh está todo bien! love you all!!!!! put on your armour; its crazy out there!!! d&c127!
love hna dascanio
ps thank you for the lovely emails and sorry i couldnt respond. mom i havent read yours yet and dad i'll send you a good email next week just know that i really needed to hear what you said and REALLY Appreciate it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[two emails in this post]

i'm trying to send pictures but i haven't much time
--did i sound like lucy from chronicles of narnia just there? hahaha
well this week was great! i learned a lot.
one of the main things i learned is that everything happens for a reason. all of our trials and pruebas are for our benefit and we can learn something from everything. Sweet fancy francis, i can tell you one thing: our trial has been health. the actual ability to leave and work. hermana musmano had some crazy whackado thing where her chest and back were swollen and so she could hardly breathe. it was kinda scary. just talking she was really out of breath so she got a medicine that required 3 DAYS to work. it was the worst. BUT it turned out to be a good experience. I worked with members a lot. got more out of my bubble. (not like i was in a shy bubble. cuz the mission kinda shoots that horse in the face first day), but todavía, it´s easy to rely on your companion to say things or make calls but i was making calls like crazy getting members who could stay with her and leave with me. and we did some awesome work. it was AWESOME! and one thing that hna musmano told me was, "when youre out with members, dont forget that youre the missionary´´ and so i was like, snap crackle pop, okay!! and it was awesome! i was able to see myself more fully rely on the Lord for help, in their needs, in spanish hello, in todo. it was seriously such a good experience. and the members i was with have such strong testimonies and were able to testify of the things that we i taught and it was so cool. anyway. i dont have much time this time. i had to take a survey for president chaparro. anyway just know that im well and loving it and hna musmano is better, i think!

oh but real quick, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIGGGGGAYYy!!!! LOVE YOU, HOW ARE YOU,
EMAIL ME I DONT HAVE YOUR EMAIL!!!

birthday donut! pardon my hair! i just got out of the shower!
also i forgot to tell yall about my birthday! it was awesome! that was the day where we were seeing so many miracles. well all of that week! ah! i am struggling with english!!! hna zambonini made me a cake! and said to tell my parents, not to worry. there are people in argentina taking care of their daughter and that you all have a very beautiful daughter. and that she shines like the light from the sun... hahahhaa kay maybe not the last part! bahahahhaa
